Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on ITSecureOps are affiliate links. Here’s exactly what that means and how it affects (or doesn’t affect) what you read.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a tracked URL that pays ITSecureOps a referral commission if you click through and complete a qualifying action — typically a free trial signup, demo request, or paid subscription. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the vendor.

FTC compliance statement

Per the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising” (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose that:

  • ITSecureOps participates in affiliate programs and earns commissions on qualifying purchases made through some links on this Site
  • Affiliate relationships exist with multiple vendors across the software categories we cover
  • We mark sponsored placements clearly using the “Sponsored” label and rel="sponsored" link attribute per Google guidelines

How affiliate revenue affects our editorial coverage

It does not. Affiliate revenue:

  • Does not influence which products we review
  • Does not influence the scores we assign
  • Does not influence ranking positions in comparisons or roundups
  • Does not determine which products are featured in our “Best of” content
  • Does not result in removal or softening of negative findings

Our reviews and rankings are produced under the same methodology regardless of whether an affiliate relationship exists. Many products we review and recommend pay us nothing. Many products with affiliate programs score poorly in our reviews and are not recommended.

How to identify affiliate links

  • Affiliate links typically appear on “Visit Website,” “Get Demo,” “Start Free Trial,” or “View Pricing” buttons
  • Hovering over a link reveals the destination URL — affiliate links often pass through a redirect or contain tracking parameters
  • Sponsored content carries a clear “Sponsored” label at the top of the article

If you’d prefer not to use affiliate links

You can navigate directly to any vendor’s website by typing their name into a search engine. Using a non-affiliate link will not change the price you pay; it will simply mean ITSecureOps does not receive a commission.
